Robin has been described as an expert in most operating and strategic aspects of the branded sports, recreation and active lifestyle industries. His senior operating and transaction experience in this arena spans over 30 years.
Over the past 3 years, he has spearheaded advisory projects with Sessions snowboard apparel, Teva/Simple/Uggs footwear, The North Face, and Acorn footwear brands. He recently completed successful transactions with Luminox watches, Chrome bike bags and Overland Equipment bags.
His hands-on experience in sporting goods includes footwear, apparel and equipment responsibilities for major brands as well as for a publicly traded e-tailer. He was the EVP of Strategy and Development for the online pioneer Fogdog.com; the General Manager for Mizuno Sports; VP of Marketing for Avia Athletic Footwear (div. Reebok); VP/General Manager for Donner Mountain (div. Reebok); and the Director of Marketing for Cutter Laboratories (div. Miles Labs/Bayer). He is currently founder and managing partner of Sport Ventures, LLC (www.sportventuresllc.com), a leading intermediary for M&A, Biz Dev. and capital raising transactions in the sporting goods industry.
Robin is an innovative, entrepreneurial leader who has successfully led companies through fast growth phases while applying pragmatic business practices. He holds an MBA (Marketing & Finance) degree from Wharton and a BA degree (Economics) from Occidental College.
